The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched two Onam vacation tour packages specially designed for LTC travellers – Chandigarh-Shimla-Manali from Kochuveli on September 6 and Kashmir-Delhi from Ernakulam on September 7.
Both packages are on three-tier air-conditioned chartered coaches. The tariffs are Rs.26,445 for the12-day Chandigarh-Shimla-Manali package and Rs.23,720 for the 12-day Kashmir-Delhi package. The prices are all inclusive and with no hidden cost, according to Ratheesh Chandran R. Nair, Manager, Tourism, IRCTC.
The packages include AC accommodation, AC transportation to local sightseeing, off-board catering service (both vegetarian and non- vegetarian food), travel insurance and services of tour escorts and guides.
The IRCTC will also conduct a pilgrimage touron Bharat Darshan Tourist Train from Madurai to north India, via Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podannur, Erode, Salem and Vijayawada. The tour covers Haridwar, Allahabad, Varanasi and Gaya. The cost of the package for 11 days is Rs.6,700. The IRCTC has launched two monsoon special tour packages to Tirupati and Hyderabad from Thiruvananthapuram on August 3 and August 15.The three-day Tirupati Balaji Darshan Tour with Seeghra Darshan ticket is priced Rs.6,271 and the six-day Hyderabad tour, Rs.13,239.
